At the beginning of each month, I share my goals for the month ahead and track my progress on the previous month’s goals. I skipped setting goals for the month of May because (a) I hadn’t completed April’s goals, and (b) I wanted to take it easy during the kids’ summer vacation.
Well, the kids are back in school today, and I’m back to being more intentional with setting and accomplishing my goals. Here’s my progress over the past two months.
My goals for April (and May) were:
- Stay up to date with the Good Morning Girls and Hello Mornings Bible studies. — Done {I completed both the studies and started new ones}
- Read through the book of Revelation. — Done {Finished Genesis also in May}
- Read Prayer, A Hunger for God, Intentional Parenting, Unplug Your Mind and ReCharge Your Soul, Thin In 30 Minutes (a book on walking). — Done {I also read Clean Enough and 101 Time-Saving Tips for Busy Moms}
- Teach the kids 2 new verses. — Done {They learnt 4 verses over the past 2 months}
- Read at least 12 books to the kids. — Done
- Backup photos. — Done
- Participate in the 30-Day House Cleaning Challenge at Money Saving Mom. — Incomplete {I didn’t complete the challenge, but did get the entire house deep cleaned after it was painted last month}
- Walk at least 8 Km this month. — Not Done {No excuses for this one :(}
My goals for June are:

Are you in the habit of setting weekly/monthly goals? If you do, how did you do last month? If you don’t, how do you keep track of things you need to get done?

Dear Sheens, I really enjoy reading your blogs and appreciate every bit of it. Would love to talk more about it when we meet. One area we guys constantly get challenges ourselves is whether our focus should be on outcomes or activities. Would love to chat with you when we meet. Best wishes, S
