It’s One of Those Days

I was planning to write this amazing post on the really funny things my boys say.  And then it turns out I haven’t had a chance to write a single word all day.  Yes, its one of those days… Our sons are down with fever – all three of them :(.

On Saturday night on the way back from a Bible study at our church, Jason started burning up with fever.  Jon joined his brother with a temperature yesterday.  Needless to say, we couldn’t attend church on Sunday and the kids stayed back from school today.  Judah, not to be left out, joined the bandwagon today.  As of now, we have 3 sick kids, 1 weary mom and 1 sleep-deprived dad trying to hold it all together.

How do we manage?  Grace, Grace and more Grace.  We’re trusting God to lead us through these difficult days.  For “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak” (Isaiah 40:29)

  1. Hey Sheena, believe it or not I was actually looking for an updated story on your blog. Was a lil disappointed when I din find any. Checked back and found this. Praying for your kids to recover soon. take care!

  2. All the best Sheena … best maintain a page for each of them to record temperatures, medication (doses and timing) I once gave Judah two doses of medication and then screamed and ran to my neighbour saying “I killed my child” .. luckily my neighbour had a FLAT character ie: no registration of emotion whatsoever (probably a mental disorder for which I am now thankful) she just looked at me with glazed eyes and blinked full circle … then when I got the doctor on he said .. “no problem he’ll just be a little extra cold till the dose wears off – nothing to hang yourself for” this is advice from a very careful Mum who made a slip up when she was tired. But … knowing you I think you will have that organized quite well. Hope you get a good night’s rest soon and your boys are ready and bouncing again.

    1. Thank you Kathy Aunty! We do jot down the dose timings in a notepad – we would get really confused otherwise. I can understand how scary it must’ve been when Judah had the double dose. Thank you so much for the advice and concern 🙂

  3. Hi Anna,

Praying for three of them and you both. I was down with Dengu Fever recently. But the way Lord helped me thru it was amazing. I had never been hospital before in my whole life except for the time i had accident to do a CT scan. But this sickness turned to be some thing which enabled me to look at the way Lord was giving us divine health thru out. My platelets count were decresing and docs confimly said they would do platelets transfusion if it goes below 30000.mummy was on fast from second day and after the count came down to 62000, there was a miracle. it increased back to 1 lakh in two days and i was discharged from hospital. It was again grace , absolute grace from God. Isaiah 53:5. He is Jehovah Rapha.
